Matthew BartowSummary/ObjectiveThe surgical technician is responsible for maintaining a sterile field and technique in the OR.
They are to always maintain a strict aseptic technique to the McCollough Plastic Surgery process standards while in the OR.
Their duties include gathering and organizing all surgical tools needed for a procedure and assisting surgical teams by handing them tools and re-sterilizing the operating room.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDelivers safe patient care according to facility policies and procedures.
Assists surgeon in the operating room.
Passes the surgeon instruments and sterile supplies during the procedures.
Performs some point-of-contact clinical laboratory services, included but not limited to sutures.
Prepares supplies and equipment for surgical and non-surgical procedures.
Sets up the instruments and equipment that is required for the procedures.
Maintains an overall sterile environment throughout the procedures.
Recounts surgical equipment and supplies at the end of the procedures.
Assist in the operating room clean-up and decontamination after each surgery.
Documents medical data in Nextech (EHR system) accurately.
Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization working effectively as a team member with other members of management and the clinic staff.
Surgery days begin at 6:
00amQualificationsAt least 1 -2 years of operating room experience in an ASC/office-based surgery center.
Excellent communication skills - Fosters an environment of collaboration and respect with physician colleagues, nurses and other healthcare team members.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Certificate of completion of a surgical technician programLicense and CertificationsCurrent BLS certificationCurrent Surgical Technician Certification
